You can get to the circulation desk just fine, but don't try to get into the stacks if you're in a chair. And since there are bookshelves making those lovely little cubbies with tables and 4 chairs, good luck in looking for something if the space is occupied, OR if you're in a chair. Of course you can ask for help, but if you just want to browse?

They're currently located in Eastworks with more limited hours until construction on their old building is completed (probably in Winter 2018).

I am very ambivalent about this library. The staff is nice. With the Regional Library System, deficiencies in the collection don't really matter unless it's something you need right that minute. It's an old building and the hvac is ok but the dust does me in whenever I spend more than 5 minutes there. I am told that the staff library is available to patrons needing handicapped facilities.

The staff is very nice, and there is something nice about it that approaches cozy, but doesn't quite make the cut.

I'm not sure what their kids section and offerings look like. I'll update next time I go back.

The children's library is down a flight of stairs, in the basement. The library has no elevator so if you have a child with mobility problems, your child is unable to participate in programs or use the collection. But of course your child is free to use the collection and partake in programs in any of the adjoining towns' libraries, just not with his/her schoolmates.

The handicapped access, however, is a laugh. Once you get up the ramp you have to pull open a very heavy wooden door and get over a ~1.5" threshold. You are then in the vestibule where there is another very heavy wooden door to pull open.

Since the City of Easthampton does not own the library, but merely contracts with the Emily Williston Memorial Library and Museum you won't get much by talking to them.

This is an okay little library. Very tiny, and not an ideal place to get work done. They have some tables, and in a pinch you could set up a laptop in there and have some amount of privacy.

Convient place to drop off and pick up books reserved ..saves travel ... Often good new reads in the lobby...but not a vast on site resource

Staff is friendly and attentive. Lots for kids to do.
