Think "The Jetsons" crossed with 1950s vintage chic crossed with unpretentious but delicious food and you have Galaxy. Located in downtown Easthampton in a renovated building that looks custom made for their look, Galaxy is a convenient drive from Northampton or the surrounding area.
We had a party of a dozen people, which they easily accommodated in a comfortable private room with windows separated from the main dining area by a glass partition. Do call ahead for reservations if you have a larger party as the restaurant is quite small.
I've come here in the past and it was okay, nothing great. Earlier this week we called to see if they were open for Christmas eve and schedule a reservation. They told us they were open Christmas eve anr scheduled us for six pm, we'll we showed up today and it was closed. I understand wanting to be closed for Christmas but do not schedule reservations for people's holiday dinner if you won't be open. We had even left a phone number, they could have called us. I'm extremely dissapointed and won't be returning.

I was here for a group dinner so had an atypical dining experience in some ways. The waitstaff didn’t pick up our plates promptly and service was kind of slow throughout the night. I never got any water or soda refills either. Food was very interesting and lots of rich flavors, however
I been here 20 or so times and I always enjoy it. Great food and beers on tap. Brussel sprouts are delicious. Its not a burger place though so don't come here looking for one unless its burger night.
I enjoyed my entree of buttermilk fried chicken served with mashed potatoes and gravy. This is not southern style fried chicken; the batter is a bit lighter and crispier, and the chicken was two pieces of boneless breast with just the first wing joint attached. Not at all greasy, it was cooked to perfection: moist and flavorful.
Came here for the first time for my brothers 30th birthday last year, but have returned many times since, fine dining but you don't have to be dressed up to the nines to enjoy it. Their short ribs are beyond good, and all of the staff is very friendly.
Don't miss their excellent appetizers! We had a bit of a wait for several people in our party to arrive, so we enjoyed a good selection of craft beers on tap and appetizers including sweet potato and poblano chili fritters, fried Brussels sprouts, and some sort of delicate Asian dumpling. All were fantastic!
